Note on Dates

Until 14 February 1918, Russia used the Old Style (Julian) calendar, which is currently thirteen days behind the New Style (Gregorian) used in the West and which is standard today.

Only dates of articles written in Russia, or dates referring to events that happened in Russia, are given in the Old Style, with the New Style date also provided in brackets.

The articles in this volume are ordered chronologically according to the New Style calendar.
