[1] Karpinsky invited Lenin to Geneva to deliver a lecture to Russian emigrants and Swiss socialists on the Party’s tasks in the revolution.

The meeting of Russian and Swiss internationalists mentioned in the letter took place on March 9 (22), 1917. Lenin did not attend it.
