Acentral part of the anti-working-class offensive of the Trump administration has been to deepen Washington’s extreme extractivism and plunder in Latin America.
To assert the dominance of U.S. big business over Chinese corporations in the southern hemisphere, the U.S. government has been fighting to prop up right wing regimes they view as allies. But the working masses, women, labor unions, indigenous nations, and other social movements have not surrendered. In Bolivia, miners, Indigenous communities, farmers, and organized labor have been carrying out a nationwide rebellion, marked by road blockades, strikes, independent assemblies, and mass mobilizations, all with the aim of forcing the resignation of Trump favorite President Rodrigo Paz.
The Bolivian masses are opening a new era of struggle in Latin America, an era that can also reshape the capacity of U.S. activists to defeat reaction and chart a course independent of the corporate political parties. Join us to learn about this important struggle and its relevance for activists in the U.S.
Join this United Left Platform event and hear:
- Aldierio,a metalworker, member of the national leadership of CSP-CONLUTAS, and a militant of the International Workers League and the United Socialist Workers Party (Brazil), currently in Bolivia.
- Jose Villaof the Bolivian MST (Movimiento Socialista de Trabajadores)
- A representative of theUnited Left Platform, U.S., a collaboration of revolutionary socialist organizations committed to political independence, a strategic focus on social struggle and mass action, and democratic organizing in all efforts. Register for the event this Fridayhere!
