inGeneral Energy News14/07/2026

Chinese natural and industrial gas stocks rallied on Monday after Beijing imposed a temporary ban on helium exports, citing the strategic importance of industrial gases used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Industrial gas makers led the gains, with Shanghai-listed Suzhou Jinhong Gas (SS:688106) shares surging nearly 10%.

Guangzhou Guanggang Gases & Energy (G-Gas) (SS:688548) shares climbed as much as 11%, while Guangdong Huate Gas Co Ltd (SS:688268) advanced 9%.China on Friday halted helium exports with immediate effect, citing its Foreign Trade Law, as conflict-linked disruptions in the Middle East tightened global supplies of the gas, which is essential for semiconductor manufacturing, MRI scanners and other industrial applications.

Investors bet Chinese energy and industrial gas companies could benefit from stronger domestic demand and higher helium prices.Source: Investing.com
